From Rondane to Dovrefjell: colourful details of nature

On the way to different spots of landscape or wildlife photography, as a nature photographer in Norwegian autumn you see many colours and shapes that are worth to use your camera 😃. Frequently I tried to capture such details of the landscapes. This year was no exception. The results are quite different pictures - sometimes abstract ones, sometimes reflections, stream photographs, macros or bokeh pics. In the end, I let myself be guided by nature and try less dogmatically to accommodate a particular style. Except for the last few days of our trip, this worked well because the autumn colours were intense.

In my eyes, the Scandinavian birch species, the bright and densely spread lichens as well as the old and partly beautiful pines offer a special fascination.

From a technical point of view, only two lenses were used for this series of 30 pictures: the Nikon 24-120/4 and the 400/4.5. The small and light Nikon Z 24-120 is really a good lens, which I have also not owned for very long. It convinced me because of the good focal length range and the very good image quality. In combination with the DX mode of the Z8 I can also use it very well as a "macro" due to the extremely good closest focusing distance, at least stopped down for textures - as seen in the birch trunks below.

I wish you a lot of fun with the pictures and send many greetings,
Thomas
